Home Exercise as Medicine
Research has shown that exercise is a powerful therapy than can help reduce blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar levels, as well as improve cardiovascular health and increase mental wellness. And, those benefits start almost immediately; blood pressure and blood vessel health is significantly improved after 45 minutes of walking at a medium intensity level (you can still hold a conversation).
Canadian physical activity guidelines recommend adults get 150 minutes of moderate to vigorous aerobic exercise per week. Among its benefits, exercise helps manage stress and promotes better sleep. Those benefits build over time resulting in improved overall health.
